Male Counselors
Andrew Grant
School: Mexico H.S.
Congregation: Oswego, NY
Hello, my name is Andrew Grant. I am 17 years old, and am extremely excited about camp. Camp has always been where my summer has been spent and I would never want to change that. I truly believe that camp is such a success not because of the counselors or directors but because God is at work in everyone who is there and it creates the best atmosphere on earth. I consider it a sanctuary, and every individual who is able to be there as a counselor or camper or as part of the staff is truly blessed. This is my first year as a counselor and I can not wait to have new campers and other campers that have been there before in my cabin. My favorite hobbies are fishing, hiking, camping, and working on engines and fabricating. My favorite music is Country music. My goal this year for boys in my cabin is to try and help them become strong christian leaders and to have the best week of their lives, and will do what ever I can to make this happen. If you want to get in touch with me my cell phone number is 315-806-5755. God bless.

Hey everyone, I'm David. Camp is awesome. When I look back at how I got involved with Camp Hunt I am really quite amazed. I was looking for a job a few summers ago and Katie Owens, whom I barely knew, told me I should apply to be a camp counselor. So I sent in an application and didn't think much of it or expect to get accepted. To my surprise I was asked to be a counselor. A few months later when I stepped off the plane at the Syracuse airport, I was wondering what I had got myself into. I knew hardly anyone at camp, and the farthest North I had ever been was Arkansas. After my first few hours at camp it was obvious that all my doubts and worries were unfounded. That first summer at camp was probably one of the best summers of my life. I've learned that camp isn't just about the activities, the food (although it is pretty legit), or the sports that we play, it's about the people we meet and the way we build eachother up. Camp is a great place to build relationships as well as learn things about yourself. I can't wait for the great things that will happen this year.
Ashton Fletcher
School: NSU
Congregation: Talaquah, OK
Hello all! My name is Ashton Fletcher. I am extremely excited about being a counselor at camp hunt this summer! I have seen Camp Hunt once, but I have never seen it in action before. I worked at a camp last summer called Burnt Cabin Christian Camp and it was an awesome experience. I know that being among believers like me will be a great blessing to me as it was last summer. Don English told me that the food is rocking at camp hunt and I must say, I'm pretty pumped about that too! I can't wait to meet each and every one of you, but just so you know a little bit about me here is my biography.

My name is Ashton and I have been a Christian for nearly five years now. I am 20 years old and will be a junior at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in the Fall. I want to go into search and rescue or something fun like that when I graduate. Some of my favorite things are soccer, hiking, movie watching, and eating...a whole lot. Camp has been a favorite part of my life for quite a while now, and I am glad that I can play a part in that for the campers at Camp Hunt this summer. A word to my campers:
- Prepare for the most mind blowing experience of your lives!
- I am a big fan of a considerably clean cabin
- A random soccer game may occur during the course of this summer’s camp session
- Late night hanging out time might be mandatory, and yes you must enjoy yourselves =)
I can't wait to meet all of you! This is going to be a great time!

Kirk Griffith
School: ACU
Congregation: Fort Worth, TX
Hi everybody.
My name is Kirk Griffith, and I'm from Texas. I am excited to be a counselor at Camp Hunt this summer and am looking forward to the opportunity of meeting new people and being at a camp that I have never been to. I'm 18 years old but I will actually be turning 19 while I'm up in New York. I'm a freshmen at Abilene Christian University, and my major is elementary education. I plan on teaching kindergarten. I love kids and am excited more than anything that I will get to be a teacher someday. My favorite thing to do is probably talk about or listen to music. I like all kinds generally, but specifically rap or country. I love watching football and base- ball, those are my two favorite sports. If I'm watching tv it's going to be on espn. When I graduate I want to stay in Texas, move to NYC, or move to Mexico. I am looking forward to meeting everyone this summer and just want to get close to everyone and not only enhance and help the growth of all of the campers spirituality, but ours as well.
Jacob Deboer
School: Fort Plain H.S.
Congregation: Utica, NY
My name is Jacob DeBoer. I have been coming to camp every year since I was 8 years old. I started by being a camper during junior week, and as I grew older I began to come earlier and earlier into the summer. I learned that Ed Grant and I share the same birthday! This year, I will be becoming counselor-age right before camp, which is a blessing from God. There is no better feeling than serving God, and there is no better place than Camp Hunt. Serving God at Camp Hunt... hard to beat, right? By the time school gets out, I don't know anyone who is not itching to go back to camp and see all the faces and relive all of the memories that have inspired us all year. The first time you ever go to camp, you wonder how you can put your computer away for a whole week or two. In reality, it is SO EASY! When I get back from camp this summer, (at first I'll cry) the only thing I will do with my computer is put together a movie out of all the video clips I'll have taken with my camera. I will also take any clips or pictures from anyone who would like me to have them. My passion, besides of course serving God and others, is movie-making, and if you have seen the music video I have put together for Antonio, a counselor from last year, you will know that I have learned a lot in that area. To campers, here is a list of a few things you can expect if you are in my cabin:
- a few Harry Potter references in my devotionals
- a really clean cabin
- waking up early in the morning to the sound of my trumpet
- knowledge of what's for breakfast the next day
- a good laugh!
I hope you all have had a great year, and I look forward to seeing everyone this summer! I can guarantee you, the only bad part of camp is leaving it!

David Farrington
School: Harding University
Congregation: Albany, NY
My name is David Farrington and I've been going to camp since I was 8 years old. I love camp hunt and eveything it represents and all the time I spent there growing up. I just completed my first year at Harding University where I am studying criminal justice.

I can't wait for camp to start to be with all the people I dont get to see everyday over the course of the year but most of all for the kids. The reason I love being a counselor at camp is the kids are always looking to have fun and learn more about God. My goal as a counselor is to give the kids one of the most fun weeks of thier lives and at the same time give them one of the most spiritual as well. Its going to be a fun summer and I look forward to meeting all the people on the staff I haven't yet.
Female Counselors
Rachel Grant
School: Rochester College
Congregation: Oswego, NY
Hi Everyone,
My name is Rachel Grant. I have just completed my freshman year at Rochester College. I am a Secondary English Education major with a minor in Biology.

I absolutely love Camp. I've pretty much spent every summer since the age of 5 at camp. When my friends would ask what my summer plans were I'd say I'm spending six weeks at Camp Hunt. Summer to me was all about Camp and is still all about camp. This will be my second official year as a counselor. I have worked many positions at camp through out the years. The past three or four summers I have been the one-on-one with girls who have Downs syndrome. These have been some of favorite campers. The joy and happiness they bring into my day makes the job worth it. I feel like I owe it to camp to be a counselor. Most of my spiritual growth has come from my experiences at camp. It has helped shape me into the Christian I am today. Some of my favorite things about camp are the thundering and lightning storms, singing, cabin devos, the friendships that develop, and the laughter that's shared. I love being able to wake up every morning, meet around the flagpole, and start my day off with God as my focus. I am very excited to have my whole family on staff this summer. Its been a childhood dream of mine. Camp has been such a blessing to my family. I'm glad we get to experience it together. I'm excited to meet the new staff members and to be reunited with the old. Camp is a great place to develop friendships that will last a lifetime. I can't wait for this summer to get here and the camping season to start.
Sarah Grant
School: Rochester College
Congregation: Oswego, NY
Well I'm Sarah Grant and this will be my sixth year as a counselor. Two of those years I was a junior counselor. I just graduated for Rochester College with Liberal Arts Degree. I’m taking some time off from college to study cosmetology and to get married!! This year has been very full. I spend the whole fall semester studying in Vienna and I have a ton of great stories to tell. Sorry in advanced if you hear my stories more then once. I’m going to England in 5 days and will be back three days before Camp. My fiancé Joshua is an US Airman who is stationed in Lakenheath England. We are getting married November 7th and everyone is invited.

I’m a walking Country music jukebox. I also know a ton about Superheroes. Many of my devos will have a Superheroes theme. I’m so glad to see that there with be new counselors this year. I really feel this is going to be the best summer Camp has had. I'm so glad to be back at Camp this year.
Lindsay Bird
School: Harding University
Congregation: Bennington, VT
Hey Everyone! My name is Lindsay Bird, and this will be my second year as a part of the counseling staff at Camp Hunt. I grew up in a small town near Albany, graduated from Hoosick Falls Central School, and attend Harding University. I first starting going to camp as a camper in 2002 with my friend Adrian. We were a little hesitant to go at first, and it took a little getting used to, but our parents practically had to drag us away from camp at the end of the week. Apparently, camp has had a pretty big effect on my life because this summer will be my eighth year attending Camp Hunt. I absolutely love being a counselor and everything that comes with it. I love all the girls I get to have in my cabin each week, giving devotionals, watching the campers make friends and grow in their faith, and simply having fun with the counselors and the kids. I feel so privi- leged to work at Camp Hunt and be a part of such an awesome place that has changed my life and the lives of many others. The three main things I try to achieve each week as a counselor are safety, spiritual growth, and putting as much effort possible in to making sure that the campers have fun and know that camp is a place where they can be safe and know they are loved. I can’t wait for summer of 2009! There will be lots of jumping in mud puddles during swim hour, making cheesy cabin cheers, going swimming in the pool when the water seems much warmer than the air feels, hearing amazing devotionals, playing tons of soccer (in the rain!), seeing hilarious skits, making more friends than you could ever imagine, and most importantly, walking away with the knowledge that we are all here to help each other in living lives for God.
Audrey Owens
School: Harding University
Congregation: Liverpool, NY
Hey everyone!
My name is Audrey Owens. I am in my second year at Harding University, and I am a Family and Consumer Science major. Baking is basically my favorite thing to do ever, and I would like to combine my love for baking with long-term missions in the future. I guess you could say I have been going to Camp Hunt for a long time. I have helped in as many parts of camp as those incharge of me have allowed. Unfortunately, my dad has not yet asked me to help him with the plumbing...but I don't really blame him and I definitely don't mind. I am super excited about working at Camp Hunt again this summer! I love everything about camp, from sleeping in creepy cabins in the back of the woods (cough...Aspen) to singing with my girls in the crisp air under the stars. David Bentley and I will be spending 6 weeks in Africa with other students on an internship before camp starts this summer. Hopefully, we will have many new experiences to share with all of you and not be too delusional from jet lag. I look forward to seeing all of you and getting to know you more very soon!

Tracy Donitzen
School: Onondago C. C.
Congregation: Liverpool, NY
My name is Tracy and this will be my second year as a counselor at Camp. Before that I was a junior counselor for a year, and a camper for seven years before that. That makes this my tenth year at Camp and I couldn't imagine spending ten of my summers anywhere else! Camp is a place unlike any other. I can guarantee every camper will experience some form of spiritual growth whether it be becoming a new Christian, meeting other Christians to help you on your path, or feeling a sense of peace and comfort you can't experience anywhere else.

I can't give you an exact list of things to expect if you're in my cabin, but I can tell you a few things, we will: many times laugh until we have to pee, have good unlifting and spiritual talks at the end of every day, sleep in on days we don't want to clean, and above all - at the end of our week together, you will want to come back next summer. I look forward to the summer of '09 and I cannot wait to enjoy it with each and every camper!

Hiyas!! My name is Nikki Reynolds and I'm from Stilwell, Oklahoma. I'm going to the University of Central Oklahoma next fall and will hopefully be able to major in dance education. I love dancing almost as much as I love camp.

I visited Camp Hunt over spring break, but other than that I haven't really got to know it very well. I have always gone to a camp here in Oklahoma but I've never been a counselor and I'm looking forward to it!! Can't wait to meet all of you!
In Christian Love,

Becca Nicholas
School: Harding University
Congregation: Jackson, TN
Hey guys, my name is Becca. I’m finishing up my first year at Harding University and am studying nursing and missions. My plan is to do long term health care missions where ever God wants me to go. I am extremely excited about camp and cannot wait to see what God is going to teach me through this experience. I have never been a part of Camp Hunt or any summer camp, so I am ready to learn and grow in any way that I can. I have, however, heard a lot about Camp. From what I have heard, I am looking forward to playing soccer all the time, the stars at night, and being a part of something that is a blessing in many kids’ lives. I’m really excited about working with all of you this summer and cannot wait for camp to start!
Lacy Trumble
School: Onondago C. C.
Congregation: Liverpool, NY
Hey, my name is Lacy Trumble and this will be my first year as a counselor. Everyone knows that camp is the most enjoyable place to visit but beyond all of the fun and the love that everyone shares, there is one big reason that I wanted to be apart of the Camp Hunt Staff. Before I became a camper about six years ago, a lot of the people that I looked up to as Christian peers really let me down by going down the wrong path. This really hurt me. I don't ever want to let kids down by living an ungodly life. I really want to give kids a good example and prove to them that although growing up is hard, you can get through it without the drinking, drugs and sex. I live in Liverpool, New York and go to Onondaga Community College. My major is photography. I also work at a craft store. I have a big imagination and am ready to put it to work this summer. I'm really excited to get to know everyone, and can't wait to worship with them. Camp has always excited me to no end but to know that God is being glorified through our days there really just brings a big smile to my face.
