Annual Spring Fund Contribution
Directed to
Dorothy Page Health Center

The proposed Dorothy Page Health Center is to be a state-of-the-art facility, with a number of long-needed features, such as a wrap-around porch where staff can gather and campers can escape the weather.

This year's Spring Fund Contribution will be directed primarily toward the construction of a new health center. For many years, Camp Hunt has been content with a "Nurse's Station" carved out of Diehl Lodge. Although this arrangement has sufficed most of the time, it has often proved inadequate. For example, during weeks when Diehl Lodge is full of staff, the same room used for isolation has been needed for examinations, and although possible carriers of infectious diseases have been separated from their cabin-mates, they still have had to share toilet and shower facilities with staff and their children.

Our situation has been tolerated by the Health Department, but it has not been desirable or in complete compliance with New York State Regulations.

But we now have the opportunity to create a truly superb facility--the Dorothy Page Health Center--that will meet our needs for many years to come.

The DPHC will be a stand-alone building, handicapped-accessible, located between O-G Hall and Victory Center. Included will be a waiting area, an examination room, two isolation rooms (each with a private toilet, sink, and shower), and a bedroom and bath for the nurse. Surrounding the building's core will be a covered porch that will provide a place for campers to gather out of the weather while cabin-mates receive their evening medications--and a place for staff to gather throughout the day and evening for fellowship and conversation!

The Center will utilize up-to-date materials and will incorporate features we have learned will make it easily opened in the spring and closed in the fall. The building will also be insulated and heated and can be made available for events such as Winter Fun Day.

Cost of the building (finished and furnished) is roughly estimated at $65,000 to $70,000. The majority of the funds needed for construction will come from a generous gift given in memory of Dorothy Page, a long-time, beloved Camp Hunt nurse, as well as Endowment Fund proceeds and our planned 2008 Spring Fund contribution, collected in New York State Churches of Christ. However, we expect that an additional $10,000 will still be required. We are looking to persons like you who are reading this--persons who love Camp and its mission to glorify God and His Son--for help. Contributions to this much needed project should be sent to Camp Hunt, Inc., PO Box 2358, Liverpool, NY 13090.

With your participation, we can make this dream a reality!
